Q&A with Sarah
Who is your hero?
Victoria Beckham! I think she is a very strong female and I LOVE her style. She successfully runs a worldwide clothing/beauty brand while being a mum and married to David Beckham!? Is there anything she can’t do! She is just a great role model for young females and I have always looked up to her from her work ethic to her style!
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Getting into Ulster University and completing my four-year degree in Leisure and Event Management and completing my dissertation! I worked so hard for my dissertation and was very proud of it! I loved my time at university and made a lot of great friends while getting a degree!
Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car?
Drive a car, an old Cadillac with Italy 50s vibe! and a good playlist!
Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why?
I would rather win the lottery then buy over my dream company to work for and become CEO! Then I can choose my own schedule and have the best of both worlds!
How would your friends describe you?
Outgoing, fun and spontaneous! I love going to social events and hanging around in big groups (Post Covid obviously) I am always first to say “Yes” to any sort of social event! but I do also enjoy my own company and binge-watching series and eating junk food! I think it’s important to be comfortable on your own.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
On a yacht sipping cocktails with Vince Vaughn (I think he is hilarious). Honestly I hope to be in my dream job and just living and enjoying life with all the ups and downs while trying all new restaurants and visiting new places!
If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be?
Not take it for granted when seeing my family every day! I love Vancouver but looking back when I lived in Northern Ireland I definitely took it for granted seeing my family every day. But some of them have had nice trips out here and I have been a pretty good tour guide if I don’t say so myself! I usually go back to Northern Ireland for Christmas which makes Christmas extra special! I would speak to my mum probably every day still!
What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
Booked a one way ticket out to Vancouver which was the best decision I ever made! A lot of people thought I was crazy when I mentioned it! But I am very glad I took the risk. I just love the life style in Vancouver and have really settled in. Always take risks in life!
Do you love or hate rollercoasters?
I love rollercoasters! I lived in Florida for my placement year and one of the days that really stands out in my memory was a trip to Busch Gardens! And there were no queues which was a bonus! I have also been to a few of the Disney parks and Alton Towers in England! My sister and I used to force my dad to go on roller-coasters and he usually ended up being sick at the end of it – Sorry Dad!
What song would you say best sums you up?
Beyoncé – Grown Woman – Who doesn’t love Beyoncé! The song is about being a confident woman and doing whatever you want!
How many languages do you speak?
Only one! I learnt French in school for a number of years but I didn’t use it enough for it to last, I can order a chocolate croissant in French which is important! I find it amazing when people can speak more than one language. It is very impressive and a great skill to have.
Who knows you the best?
Probably my best friend Drew, we have been friends for over 10 years! We met each other in High School and have been friends since! We have shared many different life stages with each other. We have a very similar sense of humour and always have good fun together. She is also amazing to go to for advice and someone who I really look up to. We are still just as close since I moved away. Sometimes she does forget about the time difference! I miss her a lot!
